This is a great scope and at a great price. Burris makes some of the finest scopes and with the built in range finder ou have a great hunting scope. Everything is done for you and all you have to do is set in the values for the ammo, sight it in and it is pretty accurate
up to 500 to 600 yards. Great for Elk, deer, antelope, etc.

I and my brother-in-law mounted our AR15's with the Eliminator and took them Prairie dog shooting. We initially wondered how we would like the lower magnification (4-12) as opposed to out previous 18x-20x scopes. Not a problem at all and never noticed the difference!

We also had a concern about soft targets ranging way out there as the dogs are small, specially pups. We were often able to get a range on the dogs over 500 yards by themselves, and when we couldnt, we selected a roch or a fence post near the dog that worked just as well.

And, I do mean WELL! It was as close to one shot one dog as you can get! With the wind at or back or in our face, the windage wasnt much of a problem. Even when it was on those occaisional side shots, we could see the impact and the next shot usually nailed him if we did our job well. The rangefinding and bullet drop compensation was dead on at all ranges. We used at least 60% LESS ammo, probably closer to 90% than we used guessing at the yardage and holdover.

It is well worth the meager investment. This scope is the most fun I ever had shooting!

I just bought the Burris Eliminator 4-12×42 for my new 338 Savage Model 116 Bear Hunter. I got home unpacked the Eliminator and found only two things that could be improved; the first upgrade would be the ability to zoom in and out from the remote "ON" switch. The other improvement is somehow make the Eliminator help carry out the catch ;) . The Burris Eliminator 4-12×42 has some of the best optics integrated with a precise rangefinder and all wraped in a reasonable price. "What more can you ask for?" How about, an orange yardage HUD(Heads Up Display)and dot which tells you the drope of the bullet on the vertical cross-hair up to 500yds – the Eliminator already has it. Yes, it is 2011 and about time optic tech is updated too. The Burris Eliminator 4-12×42 has brought us into a new era of HUD/scope interaction and opened up a new realm of precision for the hunter.
