Corner litter boxes

A corner litter box can be a great solution if you like to save space on your floor.

By placing it in the corner, that you hardly ever use, you can keep your room better organized and look nicer.

There are three types of corner litter boxes.

  • Regular corner litter boxes
  • Corner litter box with lids
  • Corner litter box furniture

I had a look at the ones we think are worth taking into consideration based on the average ratings and customer reviews.
By the way. Do you know that they are also used as a corner litter box for rabbits?

Regular Corner Litter Boxes

All corner cat litter boxes are basically triangular in shape and in that way able to fit every 90-degree corner.

There is not a lot of difference in sizes, but there is in quality.
As always I only looked at the better-rated products for you.

I did find three corner boxes in this review that fit my criteria.

PsmartCat Litter Box

What I like about our first choice is the high edges at the wall side to prevent litter from coming in between the wall and the litter box.

There is however a nice lower edge in the front to make it easier for your cat to get in and out.

The size is 18 x 18 x 9 inches.

There is even a litter fill line on the side.

This will help you prevent overfilling it and this also stops spilling when your cat steps out of the box.

I had a good look at many of the over 460 customer reviews and based our rating on them.

My Rating: 4.3

Natures Miracle Corner Cat Box

Nature's miracle corner cat litter box

The first thing I noticed is that this one is a little bigger.

The size is:

  • 26 inches on the front
  • 23 inches on the corner sides.
  • 10 inches high

This is about 5 inches more than the one above and that makes it a good choice for larger cats.

The opening for your cat to enter the cat box is about 7 inches to make it easier for your cat to get in and out without dragging litter all over the floor.

The manufacturer claims that they have liners available for this cat box, but I have not been able to find them yet.

I found over 780 buyers who took the time to write about their experience with this corner cat box.

With 89 percent of the people giving it a 4 and 5-star rating, I have decided on our rating.

My Rating: 4.5

Kaytee Hi Corner Litter Pan

Kaytee high corner corner cat box

This one is a little smaller with:

  • 11 inches sides
  • 20 inch wide
  • 9 inch high

It is available in the colors: Pink, Green, Blue, and Purple.
This makes it easy to find one that will fit the decor of your rooms.

I have read that some people also use it as a cornet litter box for rabbits since they tend to pee in the corner.
Some others used it for their ferret and other small animals and liked it very much.

My Rating: 4.5

Corner litter boxes with lids

There is another option for these boxes.
Many people like to have a litter box with a lid on it.
This is to make it all look nicer but it is also a fact that some cats prefer a little more privacy while using the bathroom.

I found three of the best-rated ones to help you find the one that fits your needs

AmazonBasics Corner litter box with lid

AmazonBasic hooded cat box

Although this brand sells several litter boxes I just had a look at their corner litter box with the lid on it.

The lid comes with a charcoal filter and I read several times that it helped to stop these unwanted litter box odors.

it was a little harder to read all the comments because they were also about the normal-shaped litter boxes.

It is a pretty nice box that measures:

  • Almost 23 inches wide
  • A little over 26 inches on the front
  • total height is a little over 20 inches.

Cleaning seems not to be a problem with the hood that can be removed.

After digging through a lot of the comments people left about this cat box I can op with the following rating.

My Rating: 4.3

Natures Miracle Hooded Corner Litter Box

Natures miracle corner litter box with lid

This is the second corner litter box from this brand and the reason was the good ratings.

Let’s first have a look at the size of it.

  • The sides are 23 inches
  • The front is 26 long
  • The total height is 21.7 inches high.

The box itself is 11 inches high and the lower side for the cat to walk in and out is about 7 inches high and rounded to force your cat to step in the middle part.

I found over 1670 people who took the time to write about this covered corner cat litter box and after reading a lot of them I gave it our rating.

My Rating: 4.6

Van Ness Closed Corner Cat Box with Lid

Van Nes enclosed corner cat litter box

The Van Ness got a little lower rating and also from a lower number of buyers, but after reading more I those opinions I decided to add it here.

The sides are not straight like the other two but a little curved in the lid and rounded at the bottom pan.

It comes with a door that opens both ways to make it easy for your cat to come in and out.

I read that some cats can be scared to use the door and someone mentioned that if you take the door off for a while your cat will get used to it and you can put it back on there after a while.

It is a small litter box and not a large litter box but will hold about 8 lbs of litter and the door will prevent the litter from being kicked up and out of the box by your cat.

My Rating: 4.3

Corner litter box furniture

This is the third option for corner cat litter boxes and also the most expensive one.

I looked at several designer litter boxes in another post if you are not specifically looking for one that fits in the corner.

I could only find one model and the ratings were not too high and only from one buyer.

I still wanted to include it here to make our corner litter box information as complete as possible.

Oak Enclosed Corner Litter Box Furniture

Corner Cat Litter Box furniture

This box only got one review and when I read it I almost decided not to include it here.

He or she was not impressed because it did not come with a litter pan. But it says nothing about that on the sales page.

They also mentioned it was heavy. It is solid Oak that is why.

Their elderly cat sometimes misses the litter pan and cleaning was not easy to do.

The width is 32 inches cat litter box furniture does not have a bottom. It needs to be placed over the litter box.

My Rating: 4.3

My Opinion About Corner Litter Boxes

It is hard to find and give a final verdict on what I think is the best corner litter box.

It all depends on your personal situation and preference. I have tried to give you 2 choices of the open, closed, and corner litter boxes in furniture.

If you are not sure if you need a corner litter box you can also have a look at the modern cat litter box furniture I reviewed.

When it comes to the best cat litter you can have a look at Dr. Elsey’s cat litter here to see if this can help you with your existing or new cat litter box.
